I'm trying to access an e-resource but it's asking me to pay?
If you're a Queen's University student, staff, or faculty member and you've hit a paywall when trying to access a library e-resource, try the following:
- Make sure you are accessing the resource through the library website first (either through Omni or library databases). This helps authenticate your access as a Queen's user.
- Try the off-campus web proxy. This will enable account authentication and provides remote access to all of the library's subscription-based resources.
- It may be that the library does not have access to this particular resource. In this case, place a request through interlibrary loan.
- If you are still having trouble, ask us so we can do some additional troubleshooting.
