What do I do if the library doesn't have the article or book I need?
In the case that Queen's University Library does not have the resource you need, current students, staff, and faculty have several options:
- Search Omni, the library's online catalogue, using the Queen’s + Omni Libraries filter to check whether an Ontario partner institution has the item. If it is available at another library, use the Get it at another library option in Omni by following these instructions.
- If the item is not available at any Ontario partner institution, you can place an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request by using the Blank Request Form. This service allows Queen’s University students, staff, and faculty to borrow books from other Canadian academic libraries as well as institutions in the United States and further abroad if required.
- You can also request that the library purchase the item using our Recommend a New Collection Acquisition form.
